Why do receptionists ask me questions?
Our Reception team at Westside will be asking you, the patients, a brief description as to why you need to be seen. This is so we can ensure you are seen by the relevant clinician at the surgery. This will reduce the amount of times you contact or visit the surgery and ensure you are seen by the correct clinician in the first instance.

Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and well being whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. How to get to Westside Medical Centre:
Our practice is situated on Corporation Street. It is only accessible from the gyratory end and the turning into West Leys is before the MorganEst building. It has a car park for patient use that can be accessed at the back of the building, via West Leys. Our practice is on the left-hand side of the building if you enter from Corporation Street, on the right hand if you enter from the car park. We occupy the ground and first floor of the building.
The surgery building is fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
GP Training Practice
This practice has been accredited to train doctors intending to become general practitioners. Sometimes the doctor may wish to video record his or her consultations, and in this case your permission will always be requested beforehand.

Then join Westside Patient Group!
Our Patient Participation Group is made up of patients and practice staff who meet bi-monthly. The group is designed so that patients can voice their opinions, both positive and negative, communicating with staff so that we can improve our services to suit patient needs.
The group is open for anyone to attend, even carers of patients who may not be patients of Westside thesmselves!
Can't attend the meetings?
If you cannot make the meeting dates but wish to voice your opinion or give suggestions, here are some alternative ways you can help us out:
- Email us! Email email@example.com and our PPG representative, Sue, will get back to you and your comments will be discussed and addressed in the following meeting.
- Alternatively, you can give your opinions in writing either via post or hand it in to reception. Either way, it will be passed on to the PPG so that feedback is given.
New ideas and suggestions are always welcome!
