Dr Derricks' Retirement
Dr Derrick has retired from Westside Medical Centre as from the end of June 2017. We would all like to wish him well in his retirement.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and well being whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know via our feedback function. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
Our practice is situated on Corporation Street. It is only accessible from the gyratory end and the turning into West Leys is before the MorganEst building. It has a car park for patient use that can be accessed at the back of the building, via West Leys. Our practice is on the left-hand side of the building if you enter from Corporation Street, on the right hand if you enter from the car park. We occupy the ground and first floor of the building.
The surgery building is fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act.
GP Training Practice
This practice has been accredited to train doctors intending to become general practitioners. Sometimes the doctor may wish to video record his or her consultations, and in this case your permission will always be requested beforehand.
Further information about training in this practice is available from reception.
Patient Participation Group
We do have a Patient Participation Group (PPG) at the surgery but are always looking to welcome new members. We have a noticeboard at the surgery where there is more information regarding this group on it.
We hold a meeting at the surgery one evening every 3 months to discuss any issues members would like to raise with the surgery and Westside staff members also attend to answer these issues and to inform the group of any changes or improvements within the surgery. If you would like to participate in this group, please contact the surgery and leave your details.
